A message from our Pastor on what you can expect when you visit Southside Baptist Church.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am honored that you are visiting Southside Baptist Church website today. Let me introduce myself:

My position is that of a shepherd – servant. I take seriously my role to "Feed the Sheep" the truth of the gospel, to Protect the Flock from the enemy and false teachers, lead all to living waters, and seek lost sheep that have strayed.

I sincerely hope you will visit our church in person. You will find a loving community of fellow brothers and sisters that are approachable, good listeners, compassionate, and trustworthy.

There are places for everyone to serve and use their gifts. Check out our Get Connected tab for more information.

Our Sunday worship service is blended with a variety of music. My preaching is from the Bible. I travelled with Billy Graham for sixteen years and learned much from him about preaching clearly. Like Dr. Graham, my preaching answers three questions:

  1. What does the biblical text say?

  2. What does the text mean?

  3. What does the text mean to me?

Southside Baptist Church teaches that only the Whole Gospel can save people. We all utterly depend on grace. Good people do not go to heaven. Only forgiven people go to heaven because of God’s grace.

I hope you will visit us. If you already trust Christ for salvation, we will help disciple you and help you grow in your faith. If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life, we pray you will encounter Him here at Southside Baptist Church and the Holy Spirit will lead you to faith in Jesus and water baptism.

We are not a perfect church, and I am not a perfect pastor, but we are growing together and would warmly welcome you.
